Just a short update to let everyone know that we have stated navigating through the Straight of Gibraltar, after having watched the African and European continents get closer all day.
The forecast came true we have 20-35 kts of wind on the nose and against tide, so motorsailing with reefed main and staysail upwind while dodging scores of ships and many small fishing boats.
Had a simple meal of left over pasta sauce over baked potatoes with a fried sausage. Sunny weather clear skies, crew sighted whales today and what they think were orcas, but so far no close orca interaction, so fingers crossed it stays that way.
We hope to reach Marina Alcaidesa in the early hours of tomorrow morning, Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
