Welcome
Wondering Where Nakee is now?
There are two basic ways that Nakee can transmit her current location:
PredictWind
When Nakee has an internet connection, be it via Starlink, which is about once a day when on ocean passages (due to the high cost of bandwidth on the open seas) or via the cellular phone network, when within range of land, the PredictWind DataHub installed on Nakee updates her position every 15 minutes.

YB Tracking
When activated, the YB Tracker (formerly known as YellowBrick) updates Nakee’s position at user defined internals, e.g. once a day, or once every 12 hours or every hour), even if Nakee does not have an active internet connection.

Beyond the two methods mentioned above, Nakee also transmits her position via marine AIS (Automatic Identification System) in about a 16 mile radius of her location. When near land, land based receivers can pick up Nakee’s AIS signals. Furthermore, even when out of range of land based stations, passing ships may also receive and relay Nakee’s AIS signals they receive to land-based data aggregators. This AIS information provides a third way to (intermittently) track Nakee’s progress, via commercial web sites such as Marinetraffic.com.

Finally, PredictWind, YB Tracking and AIS data is also used to show Nakee’s position on other websites, such as NoForeignLand.com, which provides wider functionality / social media capabilities and the ability to connect / connect with crew onboard yachts.
