We have managed to drift out of the doldrums after a few days of not making much progress.
Now doing 5.5 kts in 6 kts of wind, helped by ocean currents. Overcast conditions with intermittent light rain. We have hooked up a new control line to the Hydrovane self steering wind vane and used fairleads to lead it to the cockpit so we can control it from there. Using it has reduced our draw from the batteries to about 15 amps, which is very good.
Made spareribs on the boat’s convection oven last night with baked potatoes and home made coleslaw, came out very delicious and we have left overs for tonight’s dinner as well.
Fresh veg and fruit starting to run low, Predict Wind now has us arriving a week from today.
