Nakee back in the water

On Monday Harbour Haven Marina re-launched Nakee with fresh anti-foul bottom paint and repaired gel coat on the transom that had been damaged by the new dingy. They also made a protector bolted onto the towing profusion on the front of the dingy that caused the damage to Nakee’s transom.

To top it all off, once she was back in the water their expert mechanic was able to figure out why my generator wouldn’t start and repair it. I also learned a few things watching him work! Turned out a tiny bare wire that was soldered between two terminals on one of the four relays in the control box didn’t have a good solder connection.

Tomorrow the plan is to bid farewell to Rock Hall, Maryland and start a two day passage North up the Chesapeake, through the C&D canal to the Delaware Bay and then up the Delaware River to Pier 3 Marina in Center City Philadelphia, where I have a berth reserved. I expect to be there for several weeks visiting with my parents and sister before departing in the 2nd half of November for Puerto Rico, assuming there are no late season hurricanes lurking out there.
