John and I enjoyed two days exploring Annapolis – including the pubs! Today we were up at 6:00 getting Nakee ready to put to sea.
After a quick stop at the fuel dock and a brief visit by Collin from C.L. Rigging to measure for a new staysail track, we were off at 9:00 am motor sailing with all canvas out down the Chesapeake.
We are planing to anchor out tonight and reach Norfolk / Portsmouth at the bottom of the Chesapeake tomorrow evening, setting us up to start the offshore passage to Culebra on Wednesday and to cross the ~67 mile wide gulf stream on Thursday in Westerly winds, which would be good if the forecast models are accurate.
